Pilates during pregnancy — what you should know

Pilates can be a wonderful ally during pregnancy — with your doctor's approval and a one-to-one approach.

Pilates during pregnancy — what you should know

Pregnancy changes the body week by week: posture, centre of gravity and the load on the back and pelvis all shift. Carefully guided Pilates can help you handle these changes more easily — but only with the right approach.

Benefits of Pilates during pregnancy

  • Less back pain — by strengthening the deep muscles that support the spine.
  • Better pelvic floor awareness, important both for birth and for recovery afterwards.
  • Correct breathing, which helps you relax and manage tension.
  • Better posture despite the changing centre of gravity.

Why private sessions only?

At Telo Pilates Club we work with pregnant clients in private sessions only. Every pregnancy is different, and the programme has to change from trimester to trimester. We also use specialised equipment that provides stability and support in every position — so the instructor works only with you for the whole session.

Before your first session

Training during pregnancy requires your doctor's approval. In the first session we talk about how you feel, which week you're in and what your goals are, and then adapt the programme to you.

Read more about the format on the private Pilates session page.

Try it in person.

The best way to understand Pilates is to feel it. Book a class at Telo Pilates Club.
